I’m writing this here because this is the closest thing to a diary I keep.
I’m not feeling depressed. I haven’t felt depressed in several weeks. I don’t feel the numbness I feel when I get really low and I haven’t since I’ve had my dosage upped. The thing is I don’t know how I feel any more. I…
Oh you poor kitten. I feel for you, and I know exactly what you’re going through. I was on fluoxetine a year or so ago, it did just that to me. I wasn’t depressed anymore, and I wasn’t numb to everything, but something was still wrong and disconnect-y. My psych was very supportive and understanding and let me go off it, so I spent some more time in a very dark place, but about 6 months ago I started on some new meds that are an SNRI and they’ve changed my life. I can now see the vast difference between a medication that is working for me, and one that was just crushing me. If you think you can stomach the change, and whoever is treating you will be decent about it, maybe ask about switching? Idk everyone is different, but i just identified so strongly with what you wrote about feeling discontented and trapped in your own head and it can be SO much better than that.
(I would have put this in a reply but theres a character limit - sorry)

I feel you. I didn’t find prozac very helpful, and if you’re sure that you couldnt cope without it then there’s other drugs you could try. I’m on cipralex which has really helped, and doesn’t give the same numb feeling. Don’t be scared!
